Showdown Asia 2009 Training

December 19, 2009

Beijing 2008 Olympic champion who enjoys a good record in Asia, Elena Dementieva combines elegance and strength on court. The Showdown of Champions 09, Asia versus Russia, is Elena’s final stop before she board the plane to Perth for the Hopman Cup in January, partnering Igor Andreev ahead of the Australian Open. Blonde, tall and cute, Elena’s cheery demeanour on the court gives her an irresistible schoolgirl charm, especially when she ties her hair in a ponytail. She throws her arms up for joy when she scores, and contorts her face into a poignant grimace when she loses, always desirable in her rang of emotions An international champion at 13, victories in her own backyard were non-stop, never falling below the top four female tennis players of Russia

On the one year anniversary of the earthquake, she also invited Shifang, about 40km away from Wenchuan, the hardest-hit town in the May 12, 2008 earthquake disaster, and taught the school children there how to play tennis. Zheng Jiew will be at Malawati Indoor Stadium Shah Alam on 19 December – 20 December 2009 for Showdown Of Asia 2009.
